On Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the Congenital Metabolic Diseases Unit at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu is organizing the 21st Conference for Patients and Families with children affected by metabolic diseases. This in-person event will take place at the PCCB Auditorium of the hospital and is held in collaboration with the Catalan Association of Hereditary Metabolic Disorders.

During the conference, various healthcare professionals will share the latest advances in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of these conditions. This unique space will also foster dialogue and experience-sharing among patients, families, and specialists, strengthening the support network and the community working together to improve the quality of life of those affected.

The Congenital Metabolic Diseases Unit at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu is a national and European reference center. As part of the MetabERN network (European Reference Network for Rare Hereditary Metabolic Disorders), it leads a working subgroup dedicated to neurometabolic diseases and is accredited as a CSUR (Reference Center) by the Spanish Ministry of Health.
